Who I Work With
I coach high-achieving people who have an itch to accomplish something more than the ordinary, and people trying to figure out how to align their day-to-day life with their deepest interests, talents, and obsessions.
In practice that’s mostly creators, entrepreneurs, executives, leaders, clinicians, and other innovators.
About Me
I relate to people by way of ideas.
I’m highly curious and somewhat obsessive, which means I go down a lot of rabbit holes. There’s really no subject that can’t interest me once it gets a hook in. What I’m usually looking for are the patterns and connections underneath things: How did this come to be? What does it tell us about human beings? What happens when you take an idea from one field and apply it somewhere else?
The throughline is a fascination with how human beings experience, interpret, and adapt to reality. I’m interested in history, culture, belief systems, technology, art, and the different ways we’ve tried to make sense of ourselves and the world around us. It blows my mind how radically different our lives are from those of our ancestors, while fundamentally we haven’t changed all that much.
Professionally, I’ve worked in group homes, homeless shelters, jails and prisons, and created integrative therapy and outpatient mental health clinics. Through all of it, I’ve tended to question the “standard operating procedures.” I’m very open to unconventional ideas and highly skeptical of them. I want to understand the reasoning underneath an idea and whether it actually holds together. I don’t care whether it’s popular or not.
Elsewhere is where I get to synthesize a lot of these interests with other creative-minded people. I’m especially interested in how art, music, design, and aesthetics can promote wellbeing and self-development. I think curated spaces and social experiences are an important frontier in wellbeing, and Elsewhere is our attempt to explore what that might look like.
Mostly, I’m interested in understanding people, finding connections, and creating things out of what I find. And it seems like the more I learn, the less I understand.

How I Work
Where I’m Not a Fit
Outside the Practice
I’m a husband and a father to a six-year-old daughter. I produce music with Ableton and Moog synthesizers. I love history and the evolution of culture and religious ideas. I hunt, ride motorcycles, play chess, and I’m a fan of mechanical watches. I love talking to my daughter and her cousins about their curiosities.
I am friend with a murder of crows, who I feed daily.
